Before Sunrise...

This is one hell of a movie. Now, i fully understand why its hj's fave movie of all times, why its so raved about and why it spawned a sequel 10 whole years later.

i watched it. Finally.

i know i am kinda slow, it was afterall made in 1995. But had i watch it back then, i prob would've yawned and fell asleep as i was a mere 13 year old who knew nuts about love and life.

It is a movie that is so subtlely romantic, so subtlely sweet, and so subtlely touching. It was a SUBTLE movie! But through the small little gestures, the tons of conversations, the looks that the leads shared, it spoke volumes.

What i love about the movie, was how natural the actors were, how much they were in their own skin and how their portrayal of the 2 strangers was so realistic. The scenario seemed really predictable and unreal, boy meets girl, boy talks to girl, boy asks girl to travel with him, boy falls in love with girl. It does sound stupid when its spelt out in simple words. Weird thing is, when Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy gave their performances, it felt like it really did happened, it was actually something that might happen in real life.

most of all, what i like about them is this raw but real energy in their relationship. one where differences manage to work their way out. She is this feministic romantic, and he is this skeptical and cynical guy. One thing they share, is how they love to dream but yet also fear to dream.

overall, it is a great "conversational" film. do not attempt to watch it if you're sleepy. Also, it makes a great alone film, and you'll find yourself getting a new take on life and love.

it's a film i would recommend to anyone, who dreams to love and loves to dream.

Daydream, delusion, limousine, eyelash
Oh baby with your pretty face
Drop a tear in my wineglass
Look at those big eyes
See what you mean to me
Sweet-cakes and milkshakes
I'm delusion angel
I'm fantasy parade
I want you to know what I think
Don't want you to guess anymore
You have no idea where I came from
We have no idea where we're going
Latched in life
Like branches in a river
Flowing downstream
Caught in the current
I'll carry you
You'll carry me
That's how it could be
Don't you know me?
Don't you know me by now?
